We have tested a good number of fancy text editors for iPad in the past. If you are planning to just take notes casually, those types of apps can more than get the job done. But if you need a distraction free environment for your writing endeavors, having an app with a minimal design is a must. Writings is a simple text editor for iPad that lets you focus on what matters the most — your content.

Writings is developed to stay out of your way and keep you more focused on what you are writing. It does not have many advanced features, meaning that you will have an easier time staying focused with the tasks at hand. You can group documents together to create workspaces. The app keeps track of your writings and does allow small changes in its settings.

Writings is not a word processor and does not intend to be. It works with Dropbox which is a big plus. The app is pretty stable, which is always encouraging to see. All in all, this is a pretty cool tool for those of you who are into serious writing.
