CIA World Factbook

If you spend the majority of your time watching TV or doing work, chances are you are not keeping up with the news in other countries and the cultures around the globe. Taking time to get yourself familiar with the facts around other regions of this world may help you make better sense of what’s going on all around us. Besides, it is an entertaining practice. The CIA World Factbook can server as a reference for those of you who want to find out more about foreign countries.

The CIA World Factbook covers over 250 countries and regions. It provides basic information on these countries and their histories. The purpose of this app is not to make you an expert in history, geography, or politics. It just provides you with a crash course of what some of these countries are all about. The app does include photos from these regions to get you more informed.

CIA World Factbook is very well made. Using it certainly beats having to print this information on a piece of paper. The maps are in high quality and can be zoomed in/out without any loss in quality. Information in this app can be shared on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and other social sites. The app works with iPhone as well but looks much better on an iPad (mainly due to iPad’s larger screen).

The CIA World Factbook won’t make you a guru in anything. But it is a good starting place for those who want to get familiar with countries from around the globe, their history, and other interesting facts. It is not too pricey either which is nice.
