Stargazer

A few weeks ago, we had a chance to review SkyVoyager by Carina Software. It’s one of the most impressive astronomy applications for iPad. The trouble is it can be a bit of an overkill if you are too new to the field of astronomy. That’s where Stargazer comes in. It’s an astronomy app for beginners that lets you explore the skies on your iPad and get yourself familiar with more objects.

Stargazer may not have as many objects as SkyVoyager, but it’s pretty handy. 120K stars and 220 clusters, galaxies, and nebulae are covered in this app. The app helps you learn more information about objects you see on your screen and has additional information on asteroids, comets, and other objects.

Just like SkyVoyager, you can easily customize what you want to be shown on your screen. That includes changing the look and feel of this app. While the app performs the best on an iPhone 3GS, it works just fine on an iPad too.

The interface is very easy to get used to and the app is very informative. This is a great learning and exploring tool for astronomy fans.
