Meet OmniGraffle. A designer’s best friend. The iPad is a shiny device, capable of a lot of things. But the hardware itself is not going to matter much if you don’t have the apps that can help you get work done on the go. OmniGraffle is one of those apps that is capable of solving a lot of problems. It’s designed for graphic designers, website administrators, and anyone who is into charting, creating diagrams, coming up with wireframes.

OmniGraffle enables its users to draw all kinds of shapes and create all kinds of charts in a flash. The app is smart enough to keep your diagram connected when you move elements around. You can use multi-touch gestures to draw shapes, drag objects, and organize your documents. The app makes it possible to easily to connect objects. You can of course add your texts and change the style of your diagram as they prepare them for show time.

The app is capable of handling multi-page documents. You can easily share things between your documents. Once you are done with your documents (and that could take time as you have plenty of ways to customize your diagrams), you can share them via e-mail or as a PDF file. You can also save your diagrams to your photo library.

We did experience some speed and performance issue when testing OmniGraffle. Other than that, it’s quite solid and has a ton of features for designers. It’s not cheap but if you have the need for it, it could be a life saver.
